Professor Svetlana Trofimova, President of the Russian Anti-Aging Medical Society, agrees with other scientists who consider turmeric to be one of the superfoods that helps prolong life.
The scientist points out that the results of numerous studies also confirm the anti-cancer properties of turmeric.
According to her, turmeric has a positive effect on health because it contains the biologically active substance curcumin. Turmeric, which is widely used in Indian and Eastern cuisine, enhances the production of the hormone serotonin and slows down the aging process in the body.
She says: “Curcumin suppresses cancer cells, and also prevents the emergence of new cancer cells.”
According to her, genetic predisposition to longevity and heredity are responsible for only 30-40 percent of human health, and the rest depends on lifestyle, physical activity, biorhythms and nutrition, which play a very important role.
