Los Angeles Police arrested 93 people during a demonstration on the campus of the University of Southern California, organized in the midst of student movements in support of the Gaza Strip.
"No injuries were reported. Police patrols will continue in the area" on Thursday, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a post.
Captain Kelly Muniz told reporters that officers from the Los Angeles Police Department went to the University of Southern California campus on Wednesday afternoon.
Moniz added that police "assisted the university in making arrests for trespassing on its property" after demonstrators refused to leave.
For its part, the University of Southern California said that the protest has ended and the campus will remain “closed until further notice.”
“Students, faculty, staff, and people who have business on campus may enter with an ID card,” the university added.
The pro-Palestinian demonstration at the University of Southern California saw a confrontation between law enforcement and students demonstrating in solidarity with the Palestinians.
The wave of protests began at Columbia University in New York, where dozens were arrested last week after university authorities summoned the police to break up a sit-in that Jewish students accused of constituting intimidation and anti-Semitism.
Demonstrators, including a number of Jewish students, denied anti-Semitism.
