What causes a tingling feeling in the hand?

The Professional Association of Neurologists in Germany said that the feeling of tingling in the hand has several causes, the most prominent of which is neuropathy, that is, damage to the nerves in the hand as a result of a chronic disease, such as diabetes .

The association added that the feeling of tingling in the hand may also be due to the nerve in the hand being permanently compressed in a narrow channel in the wrist, in what is known as “carpal tunnel syndrome,” in addition to incorrect loading or excessive stress on the arm, in what is known as “carpal tunnel syndrome.” Repetitive stress injury, both syndromes are caused, for example, by prolonged use of a computer mouse.

In any case, you should consult a doctor to determine the real reason behind the tingling feeling in the hand, especially if the tingling occurs in both hands and feet.

You should also consult a doctor if the tingling sensation is accompanied by other symptoms, such as numbness, burning pain, movement restrictions, balance disorders, and disturbances in the sensation of hot and cold.
