National Guard units in the Tunisian city of Tataouine uncovered a network specialized in fraudulent operations, exploiting places of worship.
The network was able to collect financial donations from worshipers to restore and repair places of worship without providing them with receipts for the purpose.
One of its members was arrested, and a sum of money amounting to 18,000 Tunisian dinars was seized, and money transfers worth 5,000 dinars were seized.
The city's Public Prosecution ordered the necessary legal measures to be taken in the incident.
