The Washington Post: An American investigation into allegations that the Russian army hacked Starlink stations

The Washington Post reported that Democratic representatives in the US Congress have opened an investigation into allegations that the Russian military used Starlink stations belonging to SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk.

The newspaper indicated that sufficient measures have been taken to prevent Russia from hacking Starlink and employing satellite Internet services provided by Starlink stations in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Congressmen Jamie Raskin and Robert Garcia sent a letter to the company demanding a clarification response to the complaints received about the illegal use of the stations.

In the request, they indicated their concern after the Ukrainian side claimed that Russian forces were using Starlink stations, and this, in their opinion, violates the US sanctions policy imposed on Russia.

The letter stated: We are concerned that you may not have adequate protections and restrictions in place to prevent access.

The newspaper reported confirmations from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense that Russian forces had previously used Starlink stations during their combat operations.
