The number of journalist martyrs in the Gaza Strip increased to 133 martyrs

The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced on Tuesday that the death toll among journalists inside the Strip had risen to 133 since last October 7, as a result of the ongoing Israeli war.

The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced on Tuesday that the death toll among journalists inside the Strip had risen to 133 since October 7, as a result of the ongoing Israeli war.

The office revealed in a press statement that “the number of journalist martyrs has risen to 133 journalists, since the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip (on October 7), after the ascension of fellow journalist Muhammad Salama, broadcaster and journalist on Al-Aqsa satellite channel.”

The statement confirmed that Salama "was martyred in an (Israeli) bombing that targeted a house in the city of Deir al-Balah in the Central Governorate."

Palestinian and international media have repeatedly warned that the Israeli occupation army is targeting media crews in the Gaza Strip, and called for protection for them, while Israel ignores these calls.

The Israeli aggression on Gaza left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure, which led to Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice on charges of “genocide” for the first time since its founding in 1948.
