Jakarta - The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation (Ditjen Hubud Kemenhub) has given a strong warning and will carry out a special investigation regarding the alleged case of the pilot and copilot of the Batik Air airline falling asleep during the flight.

"We will carry out an investigation and review of Night Flight Operations in Indonesia related to Fatigue Risk Management (fatigue risk management) for Batik Air and all flight operators," said the Director General of Civil Aviation (Dirjen Hubud) of the Ministry of Transportation M Kristi Endah Murni in a statement. in Jakarta, Saturday.

Kristi also responded to the incident with the BTK6723 Batik Air A320 aircraft registration PK-LUV, with the pilot and copilot falling asleep during the flight from Kendari-Jakarta.

Even so, Kristi said airlines need to pay attention to the time and quality of rest for pilots and other flight crew, which affects alertness in flight.

Furthermore, the BTK6723 crew has been grounded according to internal standard operating procedures (SOP) for further investigation, and the Directorate General of Human Relations will send a flight inspector who handles Resolution of Safety Issues (RSI) to find the root of the problem and recommend mitigation actions related to this case to the flight operator and the supervisor.

The Directorate General of Public Relations of the Ministry of Transportation expressed his appreciation to the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) and took the Batik Air case seriously.

"We emphasize that sanctions will be applied in accordance with the results of the investigation found by the investigative team," said Kristi again.

Previously, the KNKT released a serious problem that occurred when one of the Batik Air planes flew in the air from Kendari to Jakarta.

This serious problem is related to the two The pilot on the flight accidentally fell asleep for 28 minutes, causing a series of navigation errors.

The incident occurred on January 25 on a flight from Kendari in Southeast Sulawesi to Jakarta. The flight had a block time of 2 hours 35 minutes until it reached its destination, according to with the Batik Air Indonesia flight schedule.
