The German Defense Minister intends to restore compulsory military service in the country

Der Spiegel newspaper revealed that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius intends to restore compulsory military service in Germany before 2025.

Der Spiegel newspaper reported , citing an internal German army document, that Pistorius had instructed him to present military service options in Germany by April 1 that meet current security requirements.

The document stated: “The Minister intends to reach a decisive decision regarding conscription during this legislative period.”

It is noteworthy that the Alternative for Germany party had previously called on Chancellor Olaf Scholz to dismiss Pistorius.
