An Italian press report revealed, on Wednesday, the truth about the transfer of ownership of Milan to the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
The Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported that the Saudi Investment Fund had received an offer to invest in the Milan club, in a broad partnership with RedBird, the current owner of the Italian football club.
According to Bloomberg, the Saudi sovereign fund may invest in a company that owns the club affiliated with Red Bird, and discussions are continuing, and a decision may be taken on that at the end of this month.
However, the sports network "BeIN Sports" reported that a source within the "Red Bird" Foundation, which owns Milan, denied the news that spread recently regarding the sale of the Rossoneri to the Saudi Investment Fund.
Milan occupies third place in the Italian League standings during the current season with a score of 56, 16 points behind Inter Milan, the leader.
It is noteworthy that Gerry Cardinale, the owner of Milan, had previously stated that he welcomed investments within the Rossoneri from the Arab region, but he insisted on retaining a majority stake in the Italian club’s shares.
