The British Navy announced on Wednesday a new attack by an unknown party on a commercial ship off Yemen.
The official account on the “X” platform for UK maritime trade operations (UKMTO) “06” wrote: “We received notification of an incident 54 nautical miles southwest of Aden, Yemen, and the authorities are now investigating the circumstances of the incident,” noting that the perpetrator of the attack was an unknown party.
He added: "We advise ships to transit cautiously in the area and to report any suspicious activity to the British Maritime Authority."
The British Navy announced this morning that a commercial ship had received calls from an entity claiming to be the Yemeni Navy and ordered it to change its course.
The crisis is escalating in the Gulf of Aden after the Belize-flagged ship "Rubimar" sank off the coast of Yemen, following attacks launched by "Ansar Allah."
The "Rubimar" cargo ship , which carries combustible fertilizers and is operated by a Lebanese company registered in Britain, was damaged in a missile attack last month, and the Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack .
