The US Embassy in Israel announced yesterday, Monday, the death of an employee under mysterious circumstances.
Embassy spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement: “We can confirm the death of an American employee at the US Embassy in Jerusalem, and we have no further details to share.” The US State Department reported that the incident is under investigation.
The spokesman indicated that the dead diplomat is not the American ambassador to Israel, and there are no suspicions of a criminal act, noting that there is no other information at the present time.
It should be noted that in 2018, the administration of former US President Donald Trump moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
