Toba Regency, North Sumatra - The 2024 Lake Toba F1 Powerboat final race has started and the racers are racing the water jets and twisting and turning to conquer the track.
The race started promptly at 11.20 WIB, after being preceded by an opening ceremony at 10.20 WIB.
As many as 18 racers appeared to be performing Trengginas and covering the 2,218 kilometer track.
The overtaking action started on lap 1, between Andersson and Stark who were in first and second position.
The two of them collided with each other at a sharp bend in the track at the port.
Andersson, who was the F1 Powerboat world champion last season, seemed unwilling to give in to being cornered by Stark. Andersson, with the red boat and boat number 1, again cornered Stark on a straight track.
Pole position started with first place filled by Jonas Andersson from Team Binh Dinh - Viet Nam.
Behind Andersson, Victory Team racer Erik Stark was in second place and Rusty Wyatt from Sharjah Team.
Then, in fourth position was Stefan Arand who was a debut racer from Team Binh Dinh - Viet Nam.
Last year's Lake Toba series winner, Bartek Marszalek from Stromoy Racing finished fifth.
Until this news was written, the race was still taking place in sunny, cloudy weather conditions.
This year's final race is entitled Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia - F1 Powerboat Lake Toba 2024 and was initially planned to be attended by 18 racers from nine teams and from 10 countries.
However, based on data from F1H2O Racing, racer Ahmad Al Fahim from Victory Team did not take part in all races in the Lake Toba series this year.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney is the main organizer of activities that are equivalent to land jet racing or Formula 1 (F1).
