Swedish planes fly near the Russian border for the first time after joining NATO

Itamilradar portal reported that Swedish Air Force aircraft flew near the Russian border, for the first time since it joined NATO.

Media reports said that the two planes flew near the Russian province of Kaliningrad. One of them was a Saab 340 AWACS aircraft equipped with a long-range target detection system. The second was the Gulfstream S102B, designed for electronic reconnaissance.

She indicated that the two planes flew along the borders of Russia and Belarus with Poland.

Sweden officially joined NATO on Thursday, becoming the alliance's 32nd member.
