Russian doctor Ramil Khasamov confirms that there is no better cure than fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, pointing out at the same time that fasting is a way to please God and it is wrong to consider it a means of weight loss or treatment.
The specialist doctor in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan pointed out in a press interview, by the way, that the first ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan are the most difficult, and then the body gets used to the new diet. Accordingly, it is recommended to fast for at least one or two days every week before the beginning of the month of Ramadan, and he believes If a person gets used to fasting not only in the holy month of Ramadan, but also at periods throughout the year, he will not face difficulties in adapting to Ramadan fasting.
Answering a question about what happens in the body during fasting, and how abstaining from food and water during the day affects the body, Khasamov said: “During fasting, a deep cleansing occurs. During this month, all organs and vessels are cleansed. By the end of the month of fasting, "Our body is in a pure state at first. The liver works intensively, like a garbage recycling plant. All toxins and harmful substances accumulated over the year are released. After Ramadan, the body recovers."
The Russian specialist doctor confirms that fasting for a month a year gives the body a break from the continuous processing of foods, and gives it renewed energy, pointing out that the person who fasts has a lower probability of developing cardiovascular diseases and asthma attacks, and the liver, kidneys, and immune lymphatic system are also cleansed.
Khasamov stresses that Ramadan fasting is the best healing medicine, and one of its benefits is that “ammonia disappears from the body by 100 percent. The vital systems of a person who commits to fasting for one month are regulated throughout the next year.”
Regarding lying down after eating during the month of Ramadan, the doctor stated that “the process of eating leads to the release of hydrochloric acid in the body. If a person is lying down, the process gets worse. It is undesirable, especially for people who suffer from diseases of the stomach and digestive system, to go to Bed after eating."
Khissamov believed that the best way to break the fast in the month of Ramadan is to begin by “eating dates after washing them with warm water. This gives a signal to the stomach, After performing the prayer, we slowly start eating. I do not recommend eating fatty, smoked, fried and sweet dishes for breakfast. It is better to start With some type of liquid, such as milk or broth.
As for healthy food at suhoor, Khasamov advises eating cheese, oatmeal and other grains, bread and bananas, and stresses the need to drink a sufficient amount of water from 2 to 2.5 liters per day, while avoiding hot or very cold drinks or soft drinks.
Regarding the relationship between fasting in the month of Ramadan and therapeutic fasting, the Russian specialist points out that it is wrong to fast in Ramadan in order to lose weight or with the intention of obtaining therapeutic benefits, pointing out that the true meaning of fasting is the intention of obeying God, “and if we do it with exactly this intention, God Almighty grants us healing.”
Doctor Ramil Khissamov points out that “the weather at this time of the year is not hot. However, hypothermia should also be avoided, as the cold makes you want to eat or drink hot tea.”
For those who suffer from high blood pressure, the doctor advises taking the medication prescribed by a specialist once a day, and if the person suffers from low blood pressure, he can, according to the doctor, drink tea or coffee after breakfast.
