Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed on Saturday his confidence that participants in the 2024 World Youth Festival will receive positive impressions and feelings, and will return to their homeland full of love for Russia.
Putin said in a video message to the festival participants: “I am sure that at this festival you will receive a huge load of positive impressions and you will return to your homeland carrying with you love for Russia.”
He added, "Multi-national unity is the greatest value for us. This largely determines the principles under which our state and society live and develop today."
The Russian President continued: "Such large-scale youth forums have been held three times, and each time it has been confirmed that there are no borders or dividing lines for the younger generations. There are hundreds of thousands of applications to participate in the festival that came to us from 190 countries."
He said: "You are the young generation. You dream of what our world can and should be in terms of security and justice. It is up to you to create it. We are open to dialogue. The brotherhood of peoples will always remain the support, advantage and fundamental strength of Russia."
By decree of President Vladimir Putin, the Sirius Federal District and the Russian city of Sochi are hosting the largest international event on the path to developing international youth cooperation, which is the “World Youth Festival 2024,” which continues until March 7.
The festival aims to create a platform for building links between young people and activists from all over the world, who will jointly shape the future on the basis of a just global order based on cooperation and balance of interests and not on the domination of one person over another. In this sense, the festival itself is a meeting place for young people from all over the world.
The festival seeks to introduce Russian and foreign youth to the tremendous opportunities provided by Russia, demonstrate its openness to the world and help dispel myths and myths about Russian society.
Russia was chosen specifically because of its own historical experience in achieving harmony between multicultural societies, and its ability and desire to demonstrate to the people gathered at the festival the power of the diversity of peoples, cultures and traditions to communicate and enrich each other without imposing uniform standards on all.
