The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem announced that 125,000 worshipers performed the third Friday prayer of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed the third Friday prayer of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite Israeli restrictions.
Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, Director General of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, said, “125,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers today in Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Earlier on Thursday, the Islamic Endowments Department reported that about 120,000 performed the evening and Tarawih prayers in the mosque, and hundreds of them secluded themselves in the mosque during the night hours and performed the dawn prayer in it.
The Israeli occupation authorities set unfair conditions for entering Jerusalem and reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, which prevented tens of thousands of worshipers from being able to perform prayers there, especially West Bank Palestinians.
The situation in Jerusalem is even more tense because the month of Ramadan has come this year at a time when Israel has continued, since October 7, 2023, to wage a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which has left tens of thousands of civilians martyred and injured, most of them children and women, and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to Palestinian and international data.
