On the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines, families still hope for government help

Ten years after the disappearance of Malaysian flight MH370, the families of the passengers are still seeking answers. On Friday, more than a dozen family members were in Beijing urging the government to find their relatives as soon as possible and find out the truth.

On March 8 , 2014 , when Malaysian flight MH370 was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, its positioning suddenly disappeared from the radar screen. According to Agence France-Presse, despite the largest search operation in aviation history, only some wreckage was recovered, and the whereabouts of the passenger plane carrying 239 crew members and passengers could not be found. The search, led by the Australian government, ended in 2017 . As for why the flight caused the tragedy, an investigation report in 2018 showed that the flight route was artificially adjusted due to air traffic control errors.

However, not all passengers' families accept the findings. According to reports , the family members went to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in China to lodge their complaints on the tenth anniversary of the flight crash. Among them, family member Li Shuce (transliteration) had tears in his eyes when he mentioned his missing son in an interview with the media. He hoped that in addition to finding his relatives, he could also find out the truth of the incident and rule out speculation that the incident might involve a political conspiracy .

According to Deutsche Welle, about 500 family members of passengers on the flight held a candlelight memorial service in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, a few days ago. Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that the search for Malaysia Airlines MH370 will be resumed as soon as possible and that cost is not an issue. In January 2018 , the Malaysian government signed an agreement with a Texas-based company ( Ocean Infinity ) to search for the black box of MH370 or the whereabouts of the passenger plane. But after three months, the company had found nothing and announced it was ceasing operations.
