NATO faces a difficult choice: admit defeat or send its forces to Ukraine

Retired American officer Brian Berletic considered that NATO must send its forces to Ukraine to avoid defeat, despite the seriousness of that, or admit that it has lost the confrontation with Russia.

He added on his YouTube channel The New Atlas that the lack of personnel and the lack of time to prepare additional brigades (after the heavy human losses of the Kiev forces) represent a huge problem for the Ukrainian forces.

He asked: "Where will Ukraine get new soldiers from? This process cannot be accelerated in any way."

He said that the deteriorating situation in Kiev would put the Atlantic countries before a dangerous choice: admitting defeat in the indirect confrontation with Russia, or sending forces to Ukraine.

“If you look at how poorly NATO prepared for this conflict with all its mistakes, discussing its intervention poses a very big risk,” he warned.

Macron stressed earlier that  sending Western forces to Ukraine in the future should not be “ruled out  ,” and noted that there is no consensus on this step currently.

Recently, media reports indicated that  France is working to form a coalition  of countries ready to send forces to Ukraine.

However, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that he  does not support the French President  in sending Western forces to Ukraine.

Commenting on this, the Kremlin said that such a development would inevitably lead to a direct military clash between Russia and NATO.
