Muscat : The activities of the twenty-eighth session of the Muscat International Book Fair in the Sultanate of Oman concluded yesterday, Saturday, which was held from February 21 to March 2.
According to the Oman News Agency, the exhibition included approximately 130 various activities, including events, workshops and seminars in which a number of symbols of thought, culture, literature and media professionals from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman participated.
The number of publishing houses participating in the exhibition this year reached 847 houses from 34 countries, of which 676 participated directly and 171 through agencies, while the total number of titles and publications listed on the site reached 622 thousand titles, including the Omani book collection, which amounted to 19 thousand books.
The number of modern publications printed between 2023 and 2024 reached about 35,989 books, 269,000 Arabic books, and 200,000 foreign books.
