Palestinian journalist Moataz Azaizeh revealed in a post on his personal accounts on the X and Instagram platforms that Meta had blocked his Facebook account.
Azaizeh posted a screenshot of the message he received, which said: “We have suspended your account. There are 180 days left to appeal, otherwise we will permanently disable your account.”
Azaizeh commented on the post, saying: “Facebook is messing with me.”
The message shows that the account was suspended on March 15, 2024.
Facebook, which is owned by Mark Zuckerberg, suspends accounts if their owners violate the application's terms of use, such as publishing content that does not comply with Facebook's terms.
The company offers the possibility to appeal the suspension if the user believes that his account has been disabled by mistake.
Suspending the account means that it will not be visible to followers on Facebook and cannot be used at this time.
It is worth noting that Azaizeh (25 years old) has gained wide fame since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, as he used his social media platforms to reveal the tragic daily events taking place in Gaza, and document them with photos and videos.
