Kim Jong Un personally supervises shooting training using large-caliber missile launchers

The North Korean Central News Agency reported on Tuesday that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un led exercises using large-caliber 600 mm rocket launchers in the west of the country.

The agency said: “On March 18, Kim Jong Un personally supervised a shooting training carried out by a specialized firing unit. Deputy Head of the Department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Jong-sik, and Head of the DPRK’s General Directorate of Missile Science, Jang Chang-ha, acted as evaluators of the shooting training.” .

It is noteworthy that "the purpose of the shooting training is to confirm the strength and capabilities of the combat systems through sudden maneuvers and firing of a unit of 600 mm rocket artillery, to raise the morale of rocket artillery fighters, test them and increase their efficiency."

In particular, Kim Jong Un inspected the firing sites, reviewed the automatic fire control system, learned about the duration of the combat deployment and tactical data, and in the control center also issued the order to fire.

After that, the shells were fired and hit the target, according to the Korean Central News Agency. After launching the projectiles, a simulated explosion test was conducted using a large-caliber rocket-propelled grenade in the air at a certain height above the target.

According to the agency, the North Korean leader said that in the future, the DPRK must ensure that the strike weapons in the country's army are always in a state of full readiness to "destroy the structures of the enemy's armed forces" and suppress and contain the possibility of war.

Earlier, the Japanese Kyodo Agency reported that North Korea carried out three launches of ballistic missiles on Monday morning: the first launch took place at approximately 7:44 local time, and the third at 8:21, and the flight altitude of the missiles in the three cases was 50 kilometers, and the range 350 kilometers away, and the three missiles fell into the Sea of ​​Japan.
