Japan signed an agreement with the World Health Organization to provide $8 million to Egyptian hospitals treating injured Palestinians.
On Sunday, Japan's Ambassador to Cairo, Oka Hiroshi, announced the country's assistance to help those affected in Gaza: "It is a great pleasure for me to sign on behalf of the Government of Japan the notes detailed agreements with WHO to provide Egyptian hospitals with emergency medical equipment and supplies worth approximately US$8 million to support the crucial efforts by the Egyptian government, hospitals and people to save the lives of many Palestinians evacuated from Gaza,” said the Japanese ambassador to Egypt.
Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, welcomed the Japanese government's action.
