Google is testing a new feature for phones to send messages via satellite

Some websites interested in technology affairs reported that Google has begun testing a new feature that will enable Android phone users to send messages via satellite services.
According to available information, the new feature was discovered in the latest beta version of Android 14 systems, and it is expected to appear in the future also in Android 15 systems.

With the latest beta version of Android 14, Google presented a new page entitled “Satellite Messaging,” and through this page, users whose phones support the new feature will be able to obtain the feature when it is officially launched.

When clicking on the “More” button on the aforementioned page, the user will be transferred to a page affiliated with T-Mobile, which is believed to be involved in developing the new feature to be launched in Android 15 systems.

It should be noted that Google is also working on developing the “Satellite SOS” feature, which will provide phone and smart device users with the ability to call for help and determine their location in emergency situations, as this feature will also work through satellite services.
