Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen said that his country did not impose any restrictions on Ukraine's use of the weapons it supplied to it, because it did not hand over any long-range weapons to Kiev that would reach Russia's territory.
He added on the Yle channel: “Finland provided Ukraine with the necessary defensive means to protect Ukrainian territory. We did not provide Kiev with long-range weapons, and therefore we do not see any need to impose restrictions on the use of these weapons.”
Earlier, the Chairman of the Defense Committee in the Finnish Parliament, Yukka Kupra, stated that his country did not impose any restrictions on Kiev's use of Finnish weapons to strike Russian territory.
For his part, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federal Council Konstantin Kosachov confirmed that Russia will take retaliatory measures if Helsinki does not deny the permission granted to Kiev to strike Russian territory with Finnish weapons.
