European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton announced that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky made a mistake when he said that Europe had given his country a third of the promised missiles, stressing that Kiev must buy part of them.
Breton said on Franceinfo radio on Monday that Zelensky's statement "in this regard is not a reality," noting that the Ukrainian president was "talking about the free transfer process."
He explained that there are three methods for supplying weapons, one of which requires the transfer of missiles for free. He stressed that within the framework of this initiative, 300,000 shells were transferred to Kiev, and he promised to increase this number to 550,000 by the end of this March.
He continued: "There remain two other supply methods, one of which includes Ukraine purchasing shells directly from our factories, where it purchased more than 350,000 shells out of 900,000. The second method was identified by some neighboring countries, and it was not revealed."
