'Election rigging' Maulana Fazlur Rehman's announcement of protest movement from April 25 : Pakistan

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan says that a large rally will be held in Pishin on April 25 against the alleged rigging of the elections, a public assembly will be held in Karachi on May 2 and in Peshawar on May 9.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman , head of Pakistan's religious and political party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, says that he will start his movement against the alleged rigging of general elections from Balochistan in the name of 'Awami Assembly' from April 25, 2024.

In a statement issued by the media cell of JUI Pakistan on Tuesday, it was said that 'just like the 2018 elections, in the 2024 elections, once again the people's right to vote has been killed.'

The statement said that this parliament is less representative of the people and more representative of the establishment. We have to go to the people, take them into confidence, unite the people for the right to vote. By creating unity in the ranks of the people, they have to be enabled to protect their vote.

The JUI statement further said that 'Our position is clear and we have decided to go ahead with it, we will start the movement from Balochistan on 25th April 2024, naming these gatherings as Awami Assembly.'

In the statement attributed to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of JUIF, it was said that a big meeting will be held in Pishin on April 25, a public assembly will be held in Karachi on May 2 and a public assembly will be held in Peshawar on May 9. '

According to the statement, a date will be fixed for Lahore after the Peshawar rally, where people from all over the country will participate.

It added: 'Also liaising with other political parties to unite the ranks of the people, our workers, provincial and subsidiary organizations mobilized for the success of these gatherings.'

In his statement regarding the Election Commission, he said that he is 'helpless, they are not allowed to determine the result. Due to the results sent by the institutions, there is no hesitation in the Election Commission.

In the statement of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, it was said that 'Civil bureaucracy is being interfered with, secret institutions and agencies are interfering with their constitutional and legal powers. Today, the judges of the High Court are saying that our affairs are being interfered with, we are being threatened, we cannot give justice to people under this pressure.

It was also announced that JUI would boycott the by-elections and none of its candidates would contest the by-elections.
