Despite its fear of the Rafah attack, Washington approves more bombs and planes for Tel Aviv

American media revealed that, in recent days, President Joe Biden's administration had given the green light to send bombs and fighter jets worth billions of dollars to Israel, despite declaring its fear of a possible Israeli attack on Rafah.

The Washington Post said on Friday that the United States had given the green light in the past few days to send billions of dollars worth of bombs and fighters to Israel, even as it publicly expressed its fears of an expected military attack in Rafah.

The newspaper quoted informed officials at the Pentagon and the US State Department as saying that the new weapons kits include more than 1,800 Mk 84 two-thousand-pound bombs and 500 Mk-82 five-hundred-pound bombs.

Washington provides $3.8 billion in annual military aid to Israel, its long-time ally.

The United States lavishes Israel with air defenses and munitions, but some Democrats and Arab-American groups criticize the Biden administration's great support for Israel, which "gives it a sense of reassurance of impunity," they say.

After the Palestinian resistance launched the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle on October 7, the administration of US President Joe Biden pledged to support Tel Aviv militarily, whatever it took, to enable it to “defend itself.” It also deployed several aircraft carriers and warships in the region.

However, several voices within the US Congress expressed their objection to the continued unconditional support provided by Washington to Tel Aviv, which the latter uses in its fierce war against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
