US President Joe Biden has ordered an investigation to identify Chinese cars that allegedly could transfer US user data to China.
According to a statement posted on the White House website: President Biden, who was cited in the text of the statement, believes that cars from China are “linked” to phones, navigation systems, and critical infrastructure and can transmit sensitive data about citizens and infrastructure to China.
Biden said: “Today I am announcing unprecedented action to ensure that vehicles coming from countries of concern like China and traveling on American roads do not undermine our national security. I have instructed the Secretary of Commerce to conduct an investigation to identify vehicles that use technology from countries of concern and to take appropriate action.” , to address risks.
Earlier, the White House reported that US President Joe Biden would issue a decree granting the Attorney General the authority to prevent the transfer of Americans’ personal data to countries that raise concerns in Washington.
