French opposition MP Thomas Portes accused his country of participating in the "crime of genocide in Gaza" by "turning a blind eye" to soldiers of French origin fighting in the ranks of the Israeli occupation army in the Gaza Strip.
French opposition parliamentarian Thomas Portes attacked his country's government and accused it of participating in the "crime of genocide" committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on the X platform, he criticized Paris for “turning a blind eye” to the soldiers of French origin fighting in the ranks of the Israeli occupation army in Gaza.
Portes, a member of the opposition Invincible France (LFI) party, published scenes showing an Israeli soldier of French origin abusing a Palestinian prisoner.
He asked: “How long will France turn a blind eye to Israelis of French origin who work alongside the criminals of the Israeli army to destroy the Palestinian people?”
He continued: “France is a partner in the crime of genocide (in Gaza).”
Last December, Portes said on the X platform that more than 4,000 Israeli soldiers participating in the war on the Gaza Strip are French with dual citizenship.
He referred to a survey conducted by the "Europe 1" network, which revealed that 4,185 soldiers of French nationality are currently mobilized in the Israeli army on the front in Gaza.
He said that this is the largest contingent after the United States, and given the war crimes committed by the Israeli army in Gaza and the West Bank, it is unacceptable for French citizens to participate.
