A strange phenomenon in Libya is causing panic among citizens and the authorities are launching an investigation

Mysterious ground cracks appeared in the south of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, which sparked a state of fear and panic among citizens.
Local residents were surprised by the appearance of unprecedented cracks and fissures on several farms in the Oulad Abu Aisha and Al-Sbiaa area, some of which reached 15 meters in length and 4 meters in width.


Activists circulated pictures and videos on social media showing large cracks on one of the farms.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment in Libya said that a team from monitoring environmental affairs in the Al-Subaia area is monitoring these ground cracks, to prepare a report and refer it to the competent authorities in the ministry to find out their causes and the extent of their danger.


The Agricultural Police Service published a statement on its Facebook account in which it said: “In view of what was reported by the media about the presence of cracks and fissures in some farms in the Awlad Abu Aisha area in the municipality of Al-Subaia, the Agricultural Police Station in Souq Al-Khamis, affiliated with the Four Districts Branch, went to the farms in the Awlad Abu Aisha area. In the municipality of Al-Subaia.


The statement added that the teams "found cracks 15 meters long and 4 meters wide. These cracks reached the olive trees, and there are cracks in other farms. The cracks reach a length of 200 meters and a depth of half a meter, and they are about 20 meters away from the agricultural well."
