In a statement, the German Foreign Ministry called on the Israeli government to immediately reverse the decision to build new settlements in the West Bank.
The statement stated that Israel's policy of building settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories constitutes a serious violation of international law.
He stressed that Israel's continued construction of settlements undermines all efforts aimed at reaching a two-state solution.
The statement pointed out that there is no justification for building illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
