A study conducted by scientists at the British University of Bath revealed that climate changes are linked to the development of a new type of anxiety in some people.
The Lancet Planetary Health magazine indicates that about 10,000 teenagers and young people participated in this study, where researchers collected complete information about their mental health and asked them to identify their fears of climate change.
It became clear to the researchers that 59 percent of participants feel anxious when thinking about the environmental situation on Earth in the future. More than 45 percent of them declared that negative thoughts about climate change lead to a deterioration in their quality of life.
According to researchers, such psychological stress can be classified as a new type of anxiety. They called it “climate anxiety.” A person with this type of anxiety may pay excessive attention to studying weather conditions, studying climate change research, and engaging in radical activism. In extreme cases, climate anxiety can impair the ability to carry out daily activities and work.
Researchers point out that psychotherapy helps get rid of traditional anxiety. But a problem like global warming cannot be solved by one person alone, so it is practically impossible to gain a sense of confidence and control over the situation.
The Egyptian army is moving to produce water from the air
Egypt seeks to achieve sustainable water security in various ways and through many development projects, to make the most of the volume of water, and to move towards advanced technology for water production.
The Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Military Production, signed a joint manufacturing contract with the Japanese Mizuha Company Limited to manufacture a device for generating water from the air with a capacity of 16 liters of drinkable water per day, which is a very good step for Egypt, which, according to previous statements by the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Sweilem, faces the danger of “scarcity.” "Water."
The technology of extracting water from the atmosphere relies on renewable energy, so this project constitutes an important addition to the promising sustainable and innovative projects being established within military production projects.
According to statements by the Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Salah, the device was produced in light of persistent efforts made over a period that extended for more than a year, during which the device went through a number of development stages and the percentage of its local component reached more than 70%, as a sample of the device was manufactured. At the 360 Military Factory, under the supervision of the technical team from the Japanese company Mizuha, the device was tried and tested in various Egyptian climates, and the results proved the suitability of working in the Egyptian atmosphere and the conformity of the water produced from the device to the Egyptian standard specifications for drinking, according to the results issued by the central laboratories of the Ministry of Health and Population.
Engineer Mohamed Ayman Abdel Hamid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Helwan Metal Equipment Company, says that the cooperation with the Japanese side aims to establish and operate a line to produce a device for extracting water from air (Kosui model) within one of the workshops that were prepared for this purpose at Helwan Metal Equipment Company and to market this product within the Republic of Arab Egypt and the Arab countries, indicating that the scientific technology with which the device works is environmentally friendly and completely free of any emission of carbon or other gases. The device also reduces the humidity in the air, which helps reduce the feeling of heat, especially in the summer period in high-humidity places.
Ayman Abdel Hamid explained that this technology condenses water in an innovative, energy-saving way, then treats it and adds beneficial elements to the body, the most important of which is calcium, then sterilizes it using silver ions, which is a Japanese technology specific to the Mizuha company.
For his part, Dr. Ihab Al-Suhaili, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for Scientific Excellence, confirms that the entities affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production have coordinated among themselves in order to work on the completion of this important national project, as Banha Electronic Industries Company (Military Factory 144) manufactured the electronic PCB circuits for this device, Helwan Metal Equipment Company (360 Military Factory) also dismantled a sample of this device to identify the complete components of the device and the function of each part. Indeed, the company succeeded in manufacturing a number of (30) metal parts, which include the majority of the metal parts of the device. The Center for Scientific and Technological Excellence also added a number Among the technical modifications to make the device work technology consistent with the Egyptian nature, and the Japanese company agreed to these modifications.
Al-Suhaili pointed out that several tests were conducted on the device in more than one location inside Egypt, which lasted for nearly a year, during which the device went through a number of development stages and deepened the percentage of its local component to reach more than 70%.
