The "X" platform allows voice and video calls for free accounts

The social media platform “X” added new features, enabling users of its accounts to make voice and video calls, which it previously provided to those who paid subscriptions to the “Twitter Blue” service.

The “X” platform, affiliated with the American businessman Elon Musk, as part of the pursuit of social communication in an expanded manner, launched a new service for users, which is making voice and video calls available to all users who do not subscribe to the distinguished subscription service that was previously known as the “Twitter Blue ” service.

The “X” platform revealed that all accounts are now able to make and receive calls, although both parties must be in contact via direct messaging at least once, and the user must download the new “X” update to find the feature present through it. .

"X" initially launched the feature for iOS users from Apple last year, and a while later, in the same year, the feature reached Android devices.

It is noteworthy that the activation of the feature came a month after Elon Musk announced that the “X” platform would make voice and video calls available to everyone as soon as the company was confident in its strength.

Earlier, Musk announced the availability of video and audio calls via the “X” platform, after the platform made available earlier this month the “Live Video” feature.

Musk said on his “X” account: “Voice and video calls are coming to X, and will work on Android, iOS, and computers, without the need for a phone number.”
