A bag containing a computer and two special memory sticks containing security plans for the Paris Olympics scheduled for next summer was stolen from a train at the Gare du Nord station in the French capital.
The police said that the bag belonged to an engineer from the Paris City Council, confirming the accuracy of a report published by BFM TV, adding that the bag was placed in the luggage compartment above the engineer’s seat.
Because his train was late, the engineer decided to change the train and then discovered the theft.
The engineer said that his computer and two USB memory sticks contain sensitive data, especially the municipal police's plans to ensure the safety of the Olympic Games.
The regional transport police are investigating the incident, which is shocking a few months before the start of the Olympics.
The Paris City Council did not comment on the incident.
2,000 municipal police will be deployed during the games, and it is expected that a total of about 35,000 security forces will be on duty daily during this major sporting event, which begins next July 26.
“Divine punishment.” Kroos attacks the referee of the Real Madrid-Seville match before suffering an injury
German Toni Kroos, the Real Madrid midfield star, criticized the referee of his team's match against its guest Sevilla (1-0), which brought them together last Sunday, in the 26th round of the Spanish Football League.
The arena referee, Diaz de Mira, was subjected to a severe attack by Real Madrid players, before receiving an injury during the second half of the match, and he left the field, with the fourth official completing the task in his place.
Toni Kroos, in a rare scene, protested the referee's decision to award a foul in favor of Sevilla in the 35th minute of the first half, which prompted the referee to show the yellow card in the face of the German star.
Toni Kroos spoke in his “podcast” with his brother Felix, saying: “The referee showed me a yellow card for a mistake I did not commit completely. I did not even interfere with the Sevilla player on the ball, and yet he called a foul against me, so I became very angry.”
He added, "I think that throughout the first half, all balls were counted against us, even at times there was no contact."
He continued: "Perhaps the injury he suffered was divine punishment due to his refereeing errors. There were 80,000 spectators in the stadium, and everyone felt frustrated with the refereeing."
Kroos continued: “The referee made all the mistakes, even at the time of his injury. The timing was not in our favor because of the way we were playing. Frankly, the fourth official was much better than the arena referee, Diaz de Mira.”
