Saudi Foreign Minister: Israel’s actions have inflamed the feelings of Muslims and Arabs and normalization is based on the Arab Peace Initiative

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said today, Saturday, that the only path to security and stability in the Middle East, including in Israel, is to establish a Palestinian state.

Bin Farhan said, on the sidelines of the Munich Conference on Saturday, that Israel’s actions have inflamed the feelings of Muslims and Arabs, and the consequences we see from Gaza will confront Israel in many ways.

Regarding normalization with Israel, the Saudi minister said that the priority now is the catastrophic crisis in the Gaza Strip and the independence of the State of Palestine.

He pointed out that normalization is based on reliance on the Arab Peace Initiative.

Today, Saturday, at the conference, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Israel has an “exceptional opportunity” in the coming months to normalize relations with its Arab neighbors, also stressing the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state.

Haniyeh holds Israel responsible for the lack of progress in the ceasefire agreement

Cairo: The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, in a statement today, Saturday, held Israel responsible for the lack of progress in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

He said in a statement, “The resistance will not accept anything less than a complete cessation of aggression, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the Gaza Strip, the lifting of the unjust siege, the provision of safe and appropriate shelter for the displaced and displaced due to the crimes of the occupation, the return of the displaced, especially to the north of the Gaza Strip, an end to the barbaric starvation policy, and a commitment to reconstruction.”

Haniyeh stated, “Hamas responded all the time in a positive spirit and high responsibility with the mediators in order to stop the aggression against our people, end the unjust siege, and allow the flow of aid, shelter, and reconstruction.”

He added: “The movement has shown complete flexibility in dealing with these issues, but it is clear so far that the occupation continues to maneuver and procrastinate in the files that concern our people, while its position revolves around the release of prisoners held by the resistance.”

Haniyeh considered that all of these requirements are “humanitarian and subject to consensus in the United Nations, human rights institutions, and the decision of the International Court of Justice, and the occupation must comply with them.”

He stated, “Achieving a prisoner exchange deal through which our prisoners, especially the old ones and those with high sentences, will be released is one of the goals of these negotiations, and this cannot be skipped.”

The head of Hamas's political bureau stated, "The movement deals with the ongoing negotiations in a positive spirit and with high responsibility, but it will not neglect the great sacrifices of our people and the achievements of their valiant resistance."

He continued: “We will work with all available means to stop the bloodbath carried out by the enemy around the clock against our defenseless people.”
