Announcing the Oscar Sports Awards nominees

The official account of the Laureus World Sports Awards, on the social networking site “X”, revealed the list of candidates to win the awards of the year in several categories, most notably the best athlete in the world.

The Laureus World Sports Awards, dubbed the "Oscars of Sports", aim to recognize the most outstanding sporting achievements and recognize the broader impact that athletes have on society.

The list of nominees for the “Loris” Award included Argentine star Messi, striker of the American team Inter Miami, in addition to Norwegian star Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s top scorer, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen, and others.

Below is the list of athletes nominated for the Laureate or Oscar Sports Awards:

- Argentine Lionel Messi (soccer)

- Norwegian Erling Haaland (football)

- Serbian Novak Djokovic (tennis)

- American Noah Lyles (runner)

- Swedish Mundo Duplantis (pole vault)

- Dutchman Max Verstappen (Formula 1)

List of 6 Maths:

-Dutch tennis player Iga Sjwontek

- Spanish football player Aitana Bonmatti

- American alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin

-Jamaican runner Shericka Jackson

- Kenyan runner Faith Kipyegon

- American runner Shakari Richardson.


The Spain women's national team is also competing with Manchester City, the Red Bull Formula 1 team, and the South African men's rugby team for the best team of the year award.

Meanwhile, Englishman Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid player, aspires to win the Best Rising Athlete award, in which he is competed by the Colombian player for the White Club, Linda Caicedo.

The Laureus Awards will be announced on April 22 in Madrid.
 

An Egyptian champion announces his retirement before the 2024 Paris Olympics

Olympic wrestler Karam Jaber officially announced the end of his professional career, after an injury prevented him from participating in the African Cup qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Karam Jaber issued an official statement, today, Monday, through his personal Facebook account, saying: “The injury prevents me from participating in the African Championship that qualifies for the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024.”

Thank you to every Egyptian and all the supporting bodies, from the Ministry of Youth to the Olympic Committee, and thank you for supporting the Egyptian Wrestling Federation. Good luck to all the team, and God willing, they will obtain qualification cards in most categories. All the best to my friends who are wrestlers and other sports, and God willing, I will head to training with the national teams, and God willing, I will transfer experiences in the world of training.

The Egyptian wrestler tried to return to the indoor halls months ago, and was selected for the Egyptian national team, requesting his participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, as he hoped to obtain a third Olympic medal in his major sporting career.

Karam Gaber is considered the best Olympic wrestler in the history of Egyptian sports. He won two gold and silver medals in previous Olympic Games, and also won the title of World Wrestling Champion more than once. Next March, Egypt will host the African Wrestling Championship that qualifies for the next Olympic Games in Paris. 2024.
