"What are the methods of sending money abroad", in the words of the agent; Danger of donkey flights increases in Punjab-Haryana : India

Shiv Kumar, a resident of Kaithal, Haryana, had sent his son to Portugal (Donkey Flights) by mortgaging his ancestral land. For the last seven months, he has been wandering from door to door to get his son back.

New Delhi : Due to illegal migration in Punjab and Haryana, the threat of Donkey Flights (Haryana Punjab Donkey Flights) is increasing. Illegal migration of people from both the states to countries like America, Britain and Canada is in the headlines, in fact recently a flight was stopped in France on suspicion of human trafficking. This matter was in the headlines last week. Let us tell you that this flight was going to Nicaragua. Donkey flight is a very famous term for entering a country illegally. Dinky in Punjabi means going from one place to another.

Large number of attempts at illegal migration in Punjab
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime said in a 2009 report that more than 20,000 young men and women from Punjab attempt illegal migration every year, as evidenced by the flight intercepted in France. Only the figure has increased, although due to confidentiality no data is available. Let us tell you that since the year 2012, Punjab Police has issued more than 10 lakh(indian price) Police Clearance Certificates (PCC). This means people who have no intention of going abroad, but want to.

'Payed a big price for going abroad'
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Saturday said that a special investigation team is looking into about 645 such cases, which led to 518 arrests. However, this process is not easy at all. This involves huge expenses as well as the risk of going to jail. Rahul, a resident of Kurukshetra, Haryana, said about his attempt to migrate a few months ago, "My agent had promised to send me to Italy for Rs 12 lakh.(indian price)." Rahul told that in April he was first sent to Dubai and then to Egypt and told about being sent to Libya, from where he was told that he would have a direct flight. Although he managed to reach Libya, he had to pay a heavy price and go to jail.

Rahul told that one day he had a heart attack in the jail itself. Considering him dead, he was thrown out on the sand. Seeing his condition, the people present in the jail protested against this, after which he was taken to the hospital. When he regained consciousness, the people of the embassy took him with them. Then he was sent back to India through white passport. Rahul says that not everyone is as lucky as him to come back.

'My son was sent abroad, nothing is known till now'
Shiv Kumar, a resident of Kaithal, Haryana, had sent his son to Portugal by mortgaging his ancestral land. For the last seven months, he has been wandering from door to door to get his son back. Although the police have registered a case against the agent who sent her son abroad, till now nothing has been digested. Shivakumar said, "Till date, we don't know where our son is. We last spoke to him on June 8. Two agents got bail and ran away. I appealed at several places, through the help app A complaint was filed at the government level but no help was received. He further said that he had come to know that a boat going from Libya to Italy had sunk.

For many others like Malkit of Kaithal district, the journey proved fatal. His family got information about their son's death through a viral video. Let us tell you that NDTV contacted many travel agents for more information on the matter, after which only one person agreed to say something on the condition of anonymity. He said, "There are two types of illegal routes through which we send people abroad. The jungle route is less expensive, it costs around Rs 30-40 lakh(indian price). These days Turkey is the main point of entry and exit. Visa from Turkey Payment is made in installments at each stage. ₹10 lakh(indian price) is to be paid in Turkey, another ₹10 lakh is to be paid in Costa Rica. The final payment is made in two installments at the Mexico border.

Agents are sent abroad in two ways
The other way is to go abroad by flight. It costs around Rs 40 to 50 lakh.(indian price). In this, people are sent by air through a European country. Still, dozens of Indians are taking to social media to document their travels, sharing tips, route suggestions and risks.

Let us tell you that after the return of the flight from Bengaluru, both Punjab and Haryana have cracked down on fake agents. Punjab has constituted a special investigation team to investigate this matter. Haryana said that it already has an investigation team, which is investigating the fraudulent agents. Minister Anil Vij said, the state government will bring a bill in the winter session of the state assembly to regulate immigration agents and agencies.
