The occupation demands residents of Gaza to evacuate their homes and the Al Amal Hospital surgery department stops

The Israeli occupation army called on residents of some areas in the Gaza Strip to evacuate their homes, while the siege and bombing of those areas continued, while it was announced that the surgery department at Al Amal Hospital had completely stopped working due to a lack of oxygen.

With the continuation of its siege imposed on several areas in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation army, on Monday, asked the residents of some of those areas to evacuate their homes, renewing its attempts to penetrate into Gaza City.

During the siege of Al-Amal Hospital and Nasser Medical Complex, west of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, for the sixth day in a row, the army demanded that residents of the areas surrounding the two hospitals immediately evacuate to the Al-Mawasi area, west of the city of Rafah.

Eyewitnesses reported that dozens of bodies of those killed by Israeli occupation bullets and shells are still dumped in the streets of Khan Yunis, while the army prevents anyone from reaching them.

The occupation army also asked residents of areas west of Gaza City to evacuate their homes and go to the city of Deir al-Balah in the center of the Strip, after a violent night witnessed in those areas as a result of the Israeli bombing that targeted them, for the first time in more than a month.

Israeli military vehicles surrounded the university area and schools belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and government schools housing displaced persons southwest of the Al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City.

There have been no shelters or safe places in the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7, 2023.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces returned to the incursion into Gaza City, as they were stationed a few meters away from Al-Shifa Medical Complex and at the “Ansar,” “Passports,” “Families,” and “Abu Mazen” intersections.

Witnesses indicated that thousands of displaced Palestinians are still in the currently besieged schools and in the Shifa Medical Complex and are unable to leave due to the intensity of the Israeli bombing and shooting at everyone who moves in the streets.

Israeli tanks also bombed the neighborhoods of Al-Rimal, Al-Nasr, and Tal Al-Hawa with a barrage of artillery shells, resulting in a number of martyrs and wounded, according to witnesses.

This is the first time that Israeli forces have penetrated areas west of Gaza City after they withdrew from it more than a month ago towards “Al-Rashid” Street on the beach.

The bombing witnessed in the western Gaza areas was the heaviest in a month, as Israeli forces reduced their military operations in these areas during the past weeks.

Shooting hinders the Red Crescent

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its medical teams were "unable to reach a martyr, meters away from Al-Amal Hospital, due to continued shooting from the Israeli army."

The association added, in a statement, “The Israeli Quadcopter drones carry loudspeakers and demand that those living in the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital and the Al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Yunis, evacuate immediately to the Al-Mawasi area.”

In this context, the Red Crescent Society announced that the surgery department at Al-Amal Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, had completely stopped working due to the depletion of oxygen supplies, as a result of the Israeli army besieging it.

He pointed out that the hospital has dealt with three martyrs and four injured displaced persons so far, and a number of wounded and martyrs are still in the vicinity of the hospital, stressing that its crews are unable to reach them.

She indicated that Israeli forces target anyone who moves in the vicinity of Al Amal Hospital.

She pointed out that many families were displaced towards the association’s headquarters and Al-Amal Hospital due to threats by the Israeli forces, on Monday morning, with evacuation orders for those living in the vicinity of the hospital and the Al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Yunis.
