In another statement, Al-Qudra announced that operating rooms had run out of nitrous gas, and a severe shortage of other medical gases, without further details.

Nitrous gas is used to anesthetize patients during surgical operations.

Palestinian and international health and human rights institutions have warned on more than one occasion of the collapse of the health sector in Gaza as a result of the continuing war.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has repeatedly warned of the scarcity of medicines and medical supplies in the Gaza Strip, and that some of them have run out due to the many infections arriving at hospitals.

A number of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip previously said that they could not find their medications in pharmacies or hospitals.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which as of Tuesday left 24,285 martyrs and 61,154 injured, most of them children and women, and caused the displacement of more than 85% of the Strip’s population (equivalent to 1.9 million people). ), according to the sector authorities and the United Nations.


West Bank : Occupation forces continue arrests and raids, and fears of an “imminent explosion”

Violent clashes broke out in cities and towns in the West Bank following widespread incursions carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, resulting in dozens of injuries and arrests, while Israeli security personnel fear an imminent explosion in the West Bank.

Before dawn today, the Israeli army stormed the city of Ramallah in the central West Bank, from its western axis, and raided an apartment for the prisoner, doctor Ayser Barghouti, in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood. Israeli forces also stormed the nearby town of Beit Sira.

In Jericho, east of the West Bank, Israeli forces stormed Ain Sultan camp and besieged a house inside it.

Activists reported that Palestinian youths targeted the invading forces with a homemade device during confrontations in the camp.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces stormed the city of Nablus and the Askar camp, which is located in the eastern part of it, vandalized the streets, and arrested the freed prisoner Atta Al-Rimawi while he was passing through the Huwwara checkpoint.

Activists posted on social media pictures of a military vehicle being targeted with a highly explosive explosive device in the eastern region of Nablus.

Confrontations also broke out between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, following their storming.

Also in the northern West Bank, the Israeli army arrested a Palestinian during its storming of the town of Jalboun in Jenin, and the freed prisoner Mohsen Shreim was arrested during a new storming of the city of Qalqilya.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) said that Israeli forces stormed the town of Arraba and the villages of Faqoua and Jalboun, and launched a massive combing and search campaign. They arrested 6 Palestinians from the town of Ya`bad, southwest of Jenin.

Near Tulkarm, a young Palestinian man was seriously injured by bullets from the occupation forces in the town of Qaffin. Clashes also broke out in the town of Anabta, east of the city.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement: “A critical injury sustained by live occupation bullets in the back arrived at Tulkarm Governmental Hospital from the town of Qaffin.”

In turn, Palestine TV (government) said that the Israeli army decided to hand over the body of a young man whom it had killed earlier on Monday.

He added, "The ambulances headed to the Jabara military checkpoint, south of Tulkarm, to receive the body of the martyr Firas Khalifa, a lieutenant colonel in the Preventive Security Service."

The Palestinian Ministry of Health had announced that the General Authority for Civil Affairs (a governmental body communicating with the Israeli side) had informed it of the “martyrdom” of Khalifa by “occupation bullets near Tulkarm.”

The Ministry also announced, earlier Monday, "a young man and a girl were killed by occupation bullets in (the city of) Dura (south of the West Bank), and 9 citizens were injured, including 4 in serious condition."


As for Hebron, in the south of the West Bank, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 16 Palestinians on Tuesday during raids.

WAFA reported that the occupation forces raided the town of Idhna, west of Hebron, and arrested 14 Palestinians there. It also arrested Palestinians from the town of Dura, southwest of the city, after raiding their homes and tampering with their contents.

The Israeli forces set up several military checkpoints at the entrances to Hebron, its towns, villages, and camps, and closed a number of main and secondary roads with iron gates, cement cubes, and earth mounds.

Yesterday (Monday), the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of two Palestinians, a young man and a young woman, and the injury of 9 others by Israeli occupation army bullets, during the storming of the city.

At the same time, activists published a video clip showing the Israeli army killing a Palestinian man at a military checkpoint in Bethlehem in the West Bank on December 28.

The activists said that the soldier, from the town of Yatta in Hebron, was killed only because he stopped his car to check whether the checkpoint was open or not.

Eyewitnesses reported that he stopped near the military tunnel checkpoint, believing that the nearby intersection was open, and while he was standing to inspect, the soldiers killed him.

'Imminent explosion'

Meanwhile, fears are escalating in Israeli circles about an imminent explosion, due to tensions in the West Bank.

Haaretz newspaper quoted security officials as saying that the situation in the West Bank is on the verge of explosion.

Security officials warned that if the political level did not make decisions about the economic future of the Palestinians there, the risk of conflict would increase.

The newspaper said that the Israeli army transferred the "Duvdevan" unit from Gaza to the West Bank, in anticipation of the escalation of the situation there.
