ISIS claims the Kerman terrorist attack in Iran

On Thursday, ISIS claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack that took place in the Iranian province of Kerman, killing dozens and wounding hundreds of civilians.

ISIS indicated that two of its members, called “Omar al-Muwahid” and “Saif Allah al-Mujahid,” were the ones who carried out two suicide operations in crowds that were commemorating the fourth anniversary of the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani.

The Iranian government declared today, Thursday (January 4), a day  of general mourning in the country  for the victims of the two terrorist explosions that occurred near the shrine of Major General Qasem Soleimani in the city of Kerman. This attack resulted in 84 deaths and 284 injuries, 195 of whom were hospitalized, according to IRNA. .

For his part, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei threatened the perpetrators of the two  terrorist bombings near the shrine of General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated four years ago, to impose the most severe punishment.

A member of the Security Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, Adalbi Shakhagoshev, said that the terrorist attack in Iran came as a result of the chaos created by Western policies in the region.

Several Arab countries condemned the attack that killed dozens of people in Iran,  following two bombings that targeted crowds commemorating the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.

Anatolia: Turkish security continues to investigate 34 suspects of spying for the Israeli Mossad

Anatolia Agency reported that Turkish security is continuing investigation procedures with 34 suspects following their arrest on charges of spying for the Israeli Mossad against foreign citizens residing in Turkey for humanitarian reasons.

Anatolia explained that the defendants "subjected to medical examinations on Thursday morning at the government hospital in the Bayrampasa district of Istanbul, under security supervision."

She noted, "After completing the necessary checks, the security forces returned the suspects to the police headquarters in Istanbul, to complete their investigation."

The agency stated that the Turkish security authorities began yesterday, Wednesday, taking statements from the 34 suspects, after their arrest on Tuesday in a security operation that included 8 Turkish states as part of an investigation conducted by the Office of Investigation into Terrorism and Organized Crime Cases of the Public Prosecution in Istanbul.

According to Anadolu, investigations showed that the Mossad aimed to carry out activities such as surveillance, tracking, assault, and kidnapping against foreigners residing in Turkey for humanitarian reasons.
