The International Ice Hockey Federation approved the participation of the Israeli national team in the World Championship for players under the age of 20.
Contrary to the previously imposed sanctions, the Israeli national team will be able to compete in Group A of the third division.
The world championship will be held in the Bulgarian city of Sofia from January 22 to 29, 2024.
On January 12, the International Ice Hockey Federation temporarily suspended the participation of Israeli teams and teams in competitions held under its auspices, with the federation justifying the decision for safety reasons.
The absence of Russian divers from the 2024 Olympic Games
Russian divers and open water swimmers are not granted neutral status, the Aquatics Integrity Unit website stated.
No Russian swimmer will compete in these disciplines at the World Aquatics Championships, and this tournament is the last chance to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Russian divers and open water swimmers will therefore miss the 2024 Olympics.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympic Games in Paris, and they will be able to participate in the tournament as individual neutral athletes.
The absence of Russian divers from the 2024 Olympic Games
At the same time, athletes who support Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, or who have connections to the armed forces or security services of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the Games.
On September 4, the International Aquatics Federation allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the championships on a neutral basis.
Athletes will only be able to participate in events where the time or score is determined by the performance of a single swimmer.
It should be noted that a maximum of one Russian athlete in each discipline will be allowed to compete.
