According to Dr. Polina Zhuravlyova, a Russian nutrition expert, excessive consumption of tangerines threatens a person with health problems and the development of serious diseases.
The expert points out that the diseases that can be caused by excessive consumption of tangerines are: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and others.
According to her, the most common problem associated with excessive consumption of tangerines is a pseudo-allergic reaction. In addition, due to their high fiber content, they can cause flatulence and increased gas.
She says: “It is not recommended to eat a lot of tangerines, because they contain a lot of sugar, citric acid and ascorbic acid. So it is better to eat a few at a time.”
It is indicated that it is not recommended to eat this fruit in cases of obesity, kidney disease, ulcers, and high stomach acidity. Because eating a large amount of tangerines in and of themselves can lead to an increase in energy and the accumulation of fat, which in the future causes obesity, which increases the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and others.
The doctor recommends not allowing children under three years of age to eat tangerines. If this happens and the child develops an allergic reaction, he must immediately consult a doctor.
Of course, tangerines are a beneficial fruit if a person eats them in moderation. They are a natural source of energy and contain soluble and insoluble dietary fibers that help the digestive system and prevent constipation. In addition, it helps improve the absorption of nutrients.
The expert recommends not eating more than 5 tangerines a day, because they increase stomach acidity, which can cause gastritis.
It can be injurious to health.
