Turkey assures Israel that it will prevent the targeting of Hamas members on its territory

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that his country will not allow anyone to carry out an illegal act, against the backdrop of “Israeli orders to carry out assassinations” against Hamas members in some countries, including Turkey.
The statements of Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya came in a press conference held in the capital, Ankara, on Tuesday, in which he commented on what was reported by the American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” about “Israeli intelligence preparing plans to assassinate members of the Hamas movement outside Palestine, including Turkey, Lebanon and Qatar.”

The Turkish Interior Minister said: “We do not allow anyone to come and do anything illegal in our country. Preventing this from happening is our greatest mission.”

He stressed that "the Turkish Interior is consulting and cooperating with the relevant ministries and the intelligence service."

Sources in the Turkish intelligence service said yesterday, Monday, that “ the Israeli side has been warned of dire consequences for any action or activity carried out by its intelligence services inside Turkish territory.”

Turkish intelligence officials confirmed that "no intelligence agency will be allowed to carry out operations and activities inside Turkish territory."

The Hamas movement responded to the threats made by the Israeli Shin Bet to pursue the movement’s leaders in the world, considering that these threats reflect the political and field impasse of Israel and do not frighten anyone.
