German football officials risk angering the public after they once again confirmed that they will try to reach an agreement next Monday that will allow the entry of foreign investors into the Bundesliga and the second division.
The German League meeting, next Monday, will be the third attempt to reach an agreement.
The rules that have been in place for some time mean that German clubs cannot be owned by large investors, so the idea of bringing a partner to the league as a whole was put forward in an attempt to make the German League more competitive at the international level.
The Spanish League has done something similar with regard to private ownership, and Mark Lenz and Steffen Merkel, managing directors of the German Bundesliga, campaigned for the deal in the football magazine Kicker.
At the same time, Lenz emphasized that any partner would only have "limited rights to decisions in commercial areas."
He added: "If a potential candidate does not agree to the red lines, then he will not be a suitable partner for us."
But it seems that fans in most German clubs are against this plan based on the songs and banners in recent matches.
