Study: Waist circumference reveals women's risk of infertility!

A recent study showed that a woman's risk of infertility increases by three percent for every additional centimeter around her waist.
The researchers analyzed data on 3,200 women in the United States between the ages of 18 and 45, who were asked about their fertility history and provided information about their health and the extent of their exercise.

The analysis revealed that waist circumference is linked to infertility: for every one centimeter increase, the risk of infertility increases by three percent.

Infertility rates decreased for women with a waist circumference of 60 cm, while women with a waist circumference of 160 cm or more were more likely to suffer from infertility.

However, “moderate leisure activities” appeared to reverse the effect in women with a waist circumference greater than 113.5 cm.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, moderate activity will raise the heart rate and speed up breathing along with sweating.

"Waist circumference is a positive predictor of infertility in women, independent of BMI," the research team from Huizhou Central People's Hospital in China wrote in the journal Plos One. "Women trying to conceive may increase their chances of conceiving by monitoring their waist circumference and participating in moderate leisure activities."

Data also suggests that a larger waist measurement can also increase the risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

A neurologist reveals the serious causes of tinnitus

The causes of ringing in the ears can be different, including those that threaten a person's health and life. Among these reasons is the presence of a brain tumor.

Dr. Diana Andreeva, a neurologist and sleep specialist, says in an interview with Gazeta.Ru: “The most common causes are diseases of the external, middle and inner ear. Psychological and emotional disorders, cardiovascular and endocrine diseases can also lead to tinnitus.”

According to her, most cases of tinnitus do not pose a direct threat to life. But there are symptoms that you should pay attention to. For example, if a person suddenly feels a noise or ringing and it is accompanied by hearing loss, it may indicate acute sensorineural hearing loss. Therefore, it is necessary to immediately consult an ENT doctor to receive timely treatment.

“In addition, pulsating noise can be caused by aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, venous sinus thrombosis, perilymphatic fistula and elevated intracranial pressure,” she says.

The doctor also indicates that the cause of tinnitus could be a tumor in the brain or middle ear, an acoustic neuroma, an infarction in the brainstem, or a perforated eardrum.

The doctor recommends seeing an ear, nose, and throat doctor when tinnitus occurs to diagnose the cause and treat it before the condition worsens.
