Macron lights a Hanukkah candle at the Elysee after receiving the “Combat Anti-Semitism Award”

French President Emmanuel Macron lit the first Jewish Hanukkah candle at the Elysee Palace after receiving the “Combat Anti-Semitism Award” on Thursday.
The French President received the Lord Jacobowitz Prize, which is given to European heads of state and government who fight anti-Semitism and defend the freedom to practice the Jewish religion.

On Thursday evening, Macron held a ceremony in the Elysee Ballroom for the Lord Jacobovits Prize, given to European heads of state and government (such as Angela Merkel in 2013 or King Felipe in 2016) who combat anti-Semitism.

Several video clips circulating on social media show the French President alongside the Chief Rabbi of France, Haim Corsia, lighting the menorah in front of him.
