Japan for the first time converts brain signals into images

Japanese specialists were able, for the first time in the world, to develop a technology that allows the use of generative artificial intelligence to create images based on processing signals received from the human brain.
Kyodo reported that during the experiment, a group of studies from the National Institute of Science and Technology recorded brain signals when some people were viewing images of objects and landscapes. About 1,200 different images were shown to the experiment participants. During this, brain activity was analyzed using functional magnetic resonance imaging. The images themselves were uploaded to an artificial intelligence database, which was tasked with learning to associate them with brain signals. Previous studies have already shown that images seen by humans can be reconstructed based on brain signals processed using functional MRI.

It turns out, however, that only limited-scale images can be reproduced in this way. Now, Japanese scientists, on the basis of previous achievements, have developed a program that converts brain signals into digital values, on the basis of which an already trained artificial intelligence can recreate images. The closest thing to reality was the image of a tiger with a clearly delineated mouth and ears and the color of a spotted coat.

Scientists believe that this technology can be used in developing communication devices, as well as in understanding the mechanisms of human hallucinations and dreams.

Russia : development of a “super bullet” For light weapons

The weapons laboratory in the Russian city of Tula obtained a patent for a new bullet intended for light weapons, with a very high penetration capacity, and is intended to hit individuals and unarmored and light vehicles.
The patent certificate stated that the bullet could be used in a Kalashnikov machine gun. As a small-caliber pulse munition with advanced penetration capabilities, including penetration of the armor of a soldier's individual armored vest.

The length of the ammunition ranges between 55 and 63 mm, and the projectile is made in the shape of a bottle. As for the bullet, it has an armor-piercing core and an elongated, streamlined head. The caliber of the ammunition is 6.02 mm, and it can change, but the dimensions of the ammunition remain the same.

The developers indicate that the super light weapon round should occupy a position between the 5.45 and 7.62 mm ammunition.

Regarding the first caliber, the new ammunition has distinctive specifications in terms of the distance of penetration of armored vest components, while the second caliber has better specifications in terms of weight, dimensions and yield.
