“For the sake of Gaza.” A general strike in the West Bank and Jerusalem paralyzes aspects of life

A general strike, called by Palestinian forces and factions, paralyzed aspects of life in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in response to global calls launched by activists under the hashtag “Strike for Gaza.”

On Monday, a comprehensive strike took place in all aspects of life in all governorates of the occupied West Bank, denouncing the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since last October 7.

On Sunday, Palestinian unions, federations, banks, companies and factions announced in separate statements their joining the general strike in the occupied West Bank.

Transportation movement was paralyzed in all governorates of the West Bank, institutions, banks, schools, ministries, and shops were closed, and the trading session on the local stock exchange was suspended today.

The strike spreads throughout East Jerusalem
In this context, the comprehensive strike spread throughout the city of East Jerusalem.

Shops were closed in East Jerusalem, as well as schools and educational institutes.

The streets seemed almost empty of citizens, while Israeli police forces were deployed in the city, especially around the Old City and its alleys.

This comes in response to widespread calls launched by activists from around the world under the hashtags “Strike for Gaza” and “StrikeForGaza.”

This comes in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, and to put pressure on governments to take action to stop the Israeli war that has been ongoing for more than two months.

The Palestinian forces and factions had called, in a previous statement, “to go out to the streets and squares of cities, villages and camps to express the unity of blood and destiny, and a victory for the defenseless innocents, and to send a message to the world that the Palestinian people will stand strongly against attempts of uprooting and displacement, and that the legitimate struggle will continue until freedom and independence are achieved.” ".

The statement added, "The peoples of the Earth as a whole will unite in the face of injustice, murder, and racism practiced by the occupying state, and will triumph for the blood of children, women, and the elderly who are victims of organized state terrorism and occupation war crimes."

American Jews write messages of incitement against Israeli missiles targeting Gaza

A group of American Jews wrote messages on Israeli artillery shells, inciting murder and targeting the Gaza Strip, during their visit to the Israeli military site in the Nahal Oz area.

A group of American Jews wrote messages on Israeli artillery shells, inciting murder and targeting the Gaza Strip.

The Americans, wearing civilian clothes, visited an Israeli military site in the Nahal Oz area adjacent to the Gaza Strip, where Israeli artillery was gathered and bombarded the Strip randomly and without stopping.

Members of the group wrote inflammatory phrases on artillery shells, and others belittling the lives of thousands of Palestinian civilians who have been killed as a result of the devastating war that Israel has waged on the Gaza Strip since last October 7.

One of the group members, who refused to reveal his identity, said that they were Jews who came from the United States to visit Israel.

He added that he wrote the name of his region in the United States on the artillery shell, while another wrote, “With our many regards,” on another shell.
