The two institutions said, in the statement, that the Israeli authorities “arrested 16 citizens at dawn on Friday, which brings the number of detainees in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, to about 4,420 Palestinians since last October 7.”

This tally does not include arrests in the Gaza Strip, according to the same source.

The arrest campaign was accompanied by “extensive harassment, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to field investigations, widespread sabotage and destruction of citizens’ homes, and direct shooting with the aim of killing,” according to the statement.

Negev Prison “an unbearable hell”

In this context, the Prisoners' Affairs Authority said on Friday that the Israeli authorities are tightening their grip on detainees in the Negev prison. Southern Israel, which made their lives an “unbearable hell.”

The Commission explained in its statement, that “the oppressive occupation measures against prisoners in the Negev Desert Prison make life more miserable and harsh in light of the strict security measures that “It made the lives of the prisoners an unbearable hell.”

She stated that “the prison administration completely cut off electricity to the detainees, and intentionally cuts off water, and only provides it for 50 minutes (per day).”

She pointed out that the prison administration “withdrew food supplies, reduced meals to two meals, in addition to closing the cantina (a shop for purchasing necessities), and special forces carried out raids into all departments, accompanied by systematic abuse and beatings.”

The authority explained that “the prison administration deprived sick detainees of transferring them to clinics or civilian hospitals, isolated some of them in solitary confinement cells, and closed the departments and isolated them from each other.”

According to the Commission’s statement, the television and all electrical appliances were withdrawn from the prisoners’ sections, and they were prohibited from going out to the bathrooms designated for showering, some of whom had not been able to shower for days, and they were prevented from going out to the recess yard, and visits to the detainees’ families were stopped.

The administration also closed the laundry days ago and carried out mass transfers, according to the authority.

Institutions concerned with prisoners' affairs say that the Israeli authorities have tightened their grip on detainees since October 7, by depriving them of their rights, preventing them from visiting, and assaulting and beating them, which led to the death of six prisoners.

Since October 7, the Israeli occupation army has been waging a devastating war in the Gaza Strip, in parallel with intense raids, arrests, and killings in towns and cities of the occupied West Bank.

The war waged by the occupation army on the Gaza Strip, as of Thursday evening, resulted in 18,787 martyrs and 50,897 injured, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” according to Palestinian and UN sources.

In the Al-Nasr and Sheikh Radwan area, north of the city, many martyrs fell after the neighborhood and inhabited homes were subjected to intense fire from drones, missile strikes from warplanes, and artillery shelling.

Tanks also stormed the UNRWA school square. In Jabalia, indiscriminate fire was fired at civilians and displaced people, resulting in dozens of casualties, including children.

In the Sheikh Zayed Towers area in the town of Beit Lahia, artillery shelled a number of surrounding buildings, apartments, and houses with dozens of shells, resulting in a large number of martyrs and dozens of injuries.

A medical source reported that 33 martyrs arrived at the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, during the past 24 hours.

Local media reported that there were martyrs and wounded today, Friday, in an Israeli raid on the Al-Katiba area of ​​the city.

Also earlier today, the occupation bombed a school housing displaced people in Khan Yunis, killing 12 people and wounding dozens.

In Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, the occupation aircraft bombed a residential square near the Kuwaiti Hospital, resulting in dozens of martyrs and wounded. They were transferred to the Martyr Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital in the city.

The occupation aircraft bombed residential neighborhoods and homes in Deir al-Balah, Gaza, Nuseirat, and Jabalia, resulting in a number of injuries.

Clashes continue

Meanwhile, Hebrew media reported clashes between the occupation forces and Palestinian faction fighters in Rafah, which is being subjected to intense Israeli bombardment.

This is the first time that clashes have broken out in Rafah, where the Israeli army forced the residents of the Gaza Strip to flee.

In turn, the “Al-Qassam Brigades” said: The military wing of the Hamas movement said its fighters were targeted by a TPG shell. A building in Juhr al-Dik in which Israeli soldiers barricaded themselves and left them dead and wounded.

It also announced the complete or partial destruction of 72 Israeli military vehicles, and the killing of 36 soldiers during the past three days in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaida said that they “targeted the Israeli field headquarters and command rooms, destroyed military concentrations with mortar shells and short-range missiles on all fronts of the fighting, and directed missile salvos at various targets.”
