Diplomatic sources reported that China called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday regarding the Israeli attacks on hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
The Office of the Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations confirmed that the UN Security Council will hold a meeting tomorrow, Friday, November 10, to discuss developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
According to the Council's agenda, the meeting will be held on the topic "The situation in the Middle East and the Palestinian issue" at 15:00 local time.
Earlier, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, confirmed that China's rotating presidency of the Security Council during the month of November will focus on addressing the Palestinian-Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, indicated that Western countries in the UN Security Council continue to undermine any efforts to reduce the escalation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict area.
The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip continues on its 35th day since last October 7, as the Israeli army continues to bomb the Strip with thousands of tons of explosives, according to the government office in Gaza. A number of relevant countries and international institutions also expressed their fears about the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the number of victims of the ongoing Israeli bombing had risen to more than 10,812 people, including more than 4,412 children, approximately 3,000 women, and 667 elderly people, while more than 26,905 others were injured.
Kiev announces talks with France to expand joint arms production in Ukraine
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustam Umarov said on Thursday that he held talks with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu about expanding joint arms production in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Defense Minister wrote on his Facebook page: “We held negotiations with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu regarding providing military assistance to Ukraine. This would strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability, in the short and long term.”
He added that it was possible to expand cooperation in the field of defense and "localize production in Ukraine."
Earlier, the French Minister of Defense reported that French and Ukrainian companies affiliated with the military-industrial complex had concluded about 10 agreements.
As the French Ministry of Defense previously indicated, Paris intends to “change the model of assistance to Ukraine with the expectation that the conflict will continue.”
Late last year, France established a fund with a budget of 200 million euros to give Kiev the opportunity to place orders to purchase weapons directly from French manufacturers.
